Specifically, learners will be able to:
– Project professional image, ensure a safe and hygienic workplace, provide a suitable environment for full body TCM Meridian wellness massage treatment.
– Consult with client to confirm suitability for treatment including contraindication to massage such as skin disorders, musculo-skeletal disorders and chronic diseases, benefits & effects, review & update client profile.
– Provide safe and effective practice in pain management by applying appropriate Chinese Tuina methods including oscilating, rubbing & scrubbing, vibrating, squeezing and pressing, percussion, joint manipulationto soothe, sedate and stimulate the meridians and channels belonging to the 12 regular meridians and 2 extraordinary meridians and pressing on selected acupressure points including ST36 Zusanli, SP6 Sanyingjiao, SP9 Yinlingquan, BL40 Weizhong, KI1 Yongquan, KI3 Taixi, GB21 Jianjing, LR3 Taichong, EX-HN5 Taiyang, RN12Zhongwan. A total of 50 TCM wellness acupoints will be required in the full body meridian massage sequence and adapted for pain management
– Provide Suitable after care advice to sustain the effects of treatment.
