On completion of this course, learner will have the knowledge and application skills to perform Indian Head massage at the workplace.
Adapted from the WSQ framework, specifically, learners will be able to:
? Project professional image, ensure a safe and hygienic workplace, provide a suitable environment for Indian Head massage.
? Consult with client to confirm suitability for treatment including contraindication to massage such as skin disorders, musculo-skeletal disorders and chronic diseases. Update client profile based on the understanding of Chakra energy system, Dosha dominance type and symptoms of imbalances
? Apply levelling and grounding through deep breathing based on Eastern tradition to balance the higher chakras (the throat chakra, the brow chakra (or third eye) and the crown chakra) for relief of stress and tension and the use of a combination of traditional Indian techniques and westernized techniques such as Tabla, Champi, stroking, friction, tapping applied through the clothes to a client in a seated position to promote blood & lymphatic flow to the head, neck and shoulders.
? Examine the suitable oils for balance. Note: application of oil is optional.
? Provide suitable after care advice to sustain the effects of treatment by recommending activities, general nutritional advice and use of suitable oils for dosha balance.
Target Audience
Suitable for job roles as Complementary Therapist, Spa Therapist. They will perform massage according to service guidelines with some adaptation to massage movements and manipulations to suit customer’s physical condition and requests.

With a good handle of this massage practice, learners can progress to specialised training in:-
a. Provide Manual Lymphatic Drainage
b. Provide TCM Meridian Massage
c. Provide Sports Massage
d. VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Diploma in Indian Head Massage
