Course Overview
Upon completion of this module, learners will be able to gain the necessary underpinning knowledge in Geriatric Massage covering its effects and benefits. The main knowledge the Learner develop is the safe practice to perform a sequence of massage covering hands/arm, back and head/neck on the elderly (Theory and practical), taking in consideration endangerment sites, contraindications and physical state.
Program Objectives :
For geriatric massage – cautions & contraindications, communication and preparation, skin conditions, at risk areas for bedridden clients, benefits and effects of tuina for elderly, commonly used acupressure points, manipulation of soft tissues, performing geriatric massage (lying and sitting position)
Duration: Program runs from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm; break: 13:00 pm-14:00 pm
